About Power Summit

Power Summit is an invitation-only gathering for senior leaders shaping the future of energy. Since its launch in 2023, the Summit has brought together executives, innovators, investors and policymakers for candid conversations about the market forces, emerging opportunities and consequential decisions defining the industry.

The value of Power Summit begins with the people in it. Attendees include senior executives and decision-makers from retail energy, generation, technology, finance, distributed energy resources, utilities, policy and the large energy-user community.

The Summit is intentionally limited in size, creating an environment where attendees can participate fully, connect naturally and have the conversations that are often difficult to have at a larger industry event.

Meet the Founder

Shannon McGriff McGowen founded Power Summit in 2023 with a simple idea: bring the right energy leaders together and create space for more candid conversations, meaningful connections and fresh thinking. Power Summit has continued to evolve, shaped by the people in the room and Shannon’s belief that the most valuable industry gatherings should feel both purposeful and personal.

Shannon began her career in competitive energy in 2008 as an energy broker and consultant. She continues that work today as principal of McGriff Energy Consulting, advising commercial clients across the country. Since 2017, she has also served as Executive Director of The Energy Professionals Association, leading the organization’s work in industry education, policy engagement and professional connection.

Power Summit is a natural extension of that experience, bringing together the relationships and market perspective Shannon has developed throughout her career. A proud Texas A&M graduate, she serves on the board of the Trading, Risk & Investments Program within Mays Business School’s Department of Finance, as well as the advisory boards of Gatby and Women Shaping Energy.
